What 2 Eat & Drink at Expo West 2023 - Indie CPG

I went back to the future for my guide to 500+ new and notable Expo West exhibitors. If you're exhibiting and have a new product, lmk! https://lnkd.in/g3aDzA8F The guide looks like a teen designed it in the late 90s/early 2000s (with lots of pop culture easter eggs) because that's when I started going 2 Expo West, and it's a time that's a big source of inspiration for brands in the deck too. From packaging to flavors and formats, we're in the golden age of functional nostalgia and better-for-you snacks, soda killers, quick breakfasts, easy lunches, dinner sidekicks, and chilled sweets made with less sugar, more protein, superhero ingredients, and all the fun a kid (or adult) would expect. The guide also introduces something new from Indie CPG that leverages my Supermercato data: A Brandelorean time machine that shows when indie exhibitors in the deck launched and which have been acquired. It's a fun stroll through packaging and product trends over the last few decades, and a visual study of brands that have stood the test of time.
